Worship at Emmanuel follows the ancient practice of receiving the Word made flesh, Jesus Christ, through the hearing of the written word in the Bible and receiving of the sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion that are instituted by Christ's command. But within this ancient practice is great freedom in music and form that also reflects new expressions of this timeless faith of Christ's presence sustained by the work of the Holy Spirit among us.

"I must still read and study the catechism daily, yet I cannot master it as I wish, but must remain a child and a pupil of the catechism, and I do it gladly."
